The 1TB slim PlayStation 4 is finally hitting the States

If you’re thinking about picking up a PlayStation 4, you might want to wait a few days. Sony announced plans to bring a 1TB version of the slim PlayStation 4 sometime “this month,” and they’re asking a pretty reasonable price for it.

The 1TB PS4 will go for $300 – the same price as the 500GB edition. It’s likely the 500GB version will drop in price or be bundled with a game, though Sony hasn’t announced whether or not it intends to continue manufacturing the 500GB version or replace it entirely.

Took you long enough

The 1TB edition has been out since September of last year, but only in Europe. It’s a bit baffling why the company took so long to bring the system out here. Maybe sales were brisk enough on the 500GB system until the last couple months. Either way, any gamers looking to buy a new PlayStation 4 will be faced with a more appealing set of choices sometime very soon.

Or you could pick up a PlayStation 4 Pro or wait for the Xbox Project Scorpio, which releases sometime later this year. The choices are improving, but they’re not getting any less complicated. Maybe the slim PS4 won’t collect as many roaches as previous models, though.
