Yes, Battlefront II will have dedicated servers

In case there was any doubt at all, one of the developers at DICE has spoken up on Twitter to confirm dedicated servers for Battlefront II. The choice squashes any potential rumors immediately before they can inadvertently derail the hype train.

The news comes from Dennis Brännvall, Associate Design Director at DICE.

Right, but what about a server browser?

The thing folks are asking for after that response on Twitter hasn’t been discussed. They want a proper server browser, and there’s been no word on whether or not it’s coming.

Dedicated servers are an absolutely wonderful requirement for any multiplayer shooter that hopes to be competitive, for sure, but server browsers are wonderful, too. When I almost exclusively played shooters on PC 10 (!!!) years ago, server browsers were effectively industry standard. Now? They’re a feature, and that really stinks.

Battlefront II sells on November 17, 2017.
