Google will take the wraps off “the new Google Earth” next week

Google has started sending out invitations to an event it’s holding on April 18, where it’ll unveil “the new Google Earth.” It’s unclear what exactly the firm has up its sleeve, but we’re expecting to see a major redesign of the software with virtual reality at the center.

But how will it implement virtual reality? We have a feeling the experience will be similar to Google Earth VR, which enables users to explore a handful of destinations — including the Amazon River, Grand Canyon and Swiss Alps — using an HTC Vive.

The announcement should be pretty exciting

Whatever the case may be, the announcement should be pretty exciting seeing as Google is dedicating an entire event to it. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too long to find out more, as the conference will take place next Tuesday.
