Fallout 4 VR “will change the way we think about VR,” says AMD exec

AMD Corporate Vice President Roy Taylor has actually drawn lines between Fallout 4‘s upcoming VR mode and Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog. Fallout 4 VR, if you read between the lines there, will be so unique and boundary pushing that it’s worth comparing to two games that made home consoles a solid fixture in our lives.

He indicated that this new take on Fallout is dynamic and industry-changing during the recent VR World Congress event. According to Taylor, Fallout 4 VR “will change the way we think about VR,” and “it will be an industry changer.”

I’m just being cynical here, but the game needs to provide more than just Fallout in VR to garner and deserve praise like Taylor’s giving. Though, I do hope he’s right.

AMD thinks they have a solution for VR and wires

Another interesting bit of that presentation from Taylor comes from AMD’s supposed solution for wires and VR. Here’s Taylor on wires.

“They’re an inhibitor to what should be giving great freedom of movement… One of the most important things we do next is get rid of those pesky wires. I’m very pleased to tell you that AMD has come up with a solution.”

Their solution is called Nitero, and it supposedly eliminates wired VR with “unheard of latencies.” We’ll see…
