A picture shared by Slashleaks has provided us with our first glimpse of the Moto Z2, which essentially looks like the original Moto Z.
From what we can tell, not much will change when the upcoming sequel hits. The design is consistent with what we saw last year; the pogo pin connectors have been carried over from the Moto Z to accommodate the growing Moto Mod ecosystem. It’s very likely the Moto Z2 will support existing Mods, along with whatever’s set to come out when the sequel is released.
The device appears to once again be razor thin (the Moto Z was just 5.2mm thin), and will allegedly include a redesigned fingerprint sensor beneath the screen. The image also suggests the device will come with a rear dual-camera setup, which is becoming more and more common among modern flagships.
Not much is known
Seeing a sequel to the Moto Z isn’t particularly unexpected. The first device had a lot to offer and featured one of the market’s most striking designs. Expect more of the same when the Moto Z2 hits, along with a greater emphasis on the Mods.
If the device expects to keep pace with its rivals, we should anticipate specs such as a Snapdragon 835 chip, 3,000mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, and more. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for Moto Z2 info as it comes.
