Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is technically an expansion for Uncharted 4. That can be tough to remember since it’ll be available as a standalone purchase, separate from its parent game, and since it doesn’t include Nathan Drake or any members of his crew. As if that wasn’t foggy enough, it sounds like The Lost Legacy is huge – Naughty Dog says it’ll be around 10 hours long.
Naughty Dog’s Director of Communications Arne Meyer spoke to IBTimes and dropped that nugget of information along with some background on what inspired it.
They just can’t help it
“Years ago, when we were asked if we were ever doing a single-player expansion for Uncharted, we always said, ‘well we don’t have the self-discipline to do that.’ If we tried to do that we’d create a full game,” he said.
‘There’s no way we could, sort of, constrict and restrain ourselves, and that’s exactly what’s happening here. When we were doing story pitches we were coming up with a game that would be over 10 hours long and so we suddenly realized everything we said was true and we couldn’t keep it short.”
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set to hit PlayStation 4 sometime later this year.
