Phantom Dust still exists, Xbox boss Phil Spencer tweets screenshot to prove it

On Saturday, April 1, Xbox boss Phil Spencer and Microsoft Studios GM Shannon Loftis were hanging out at the office playing Phantom Dust. It turns out even executives avoid their families on weekends when there are super important video games that need playing. Among those super important games, apparently, was Phantom Dust. Spencer was having fun with the game, so he tweeted a picture of it.

In a follow-up tweet, Spencer confirmed that that 30FPS badge some of you have already noticed and tweeted about means the game is running on Xbox One in this shot – not Xbox Scorpio.

We’re nervous, okay?

Phantom Dust was announced back at E3 2014, but the studio behind it, Darkside Games, was shuttered a year later. Microsoft confirmed the game wasn’t dead, but we’ve heard very little about it since. It’s apparently intended to see release before E3 right now. But we can’t help but be nervous after the cancellation of Scalebound. Any game a company’s vague about is hard not to worry about, and fans of games of Japanese origin are doubly nervous (development on this isn’t happening in Japan, but the original was a Japanese game).

But hey – Phantom Dust exists, is on track, and it’s apparently pretty fun.
