GoPro launches its Karma drone in Europe

by Josh Levenson | March 31, 2017March 31, 2017 7:00 pm PDT

GoPro has today launched its Karma drone in five European markets: France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. Prices start at €999.99 ($1,068) for a standalone unit and max out at €1,399.99 ($1,495) for one bundled with a HERO5 Black.

For those unaware, the Karma was first launched back in October 2015, but it was quickly recalled after reports surfaced of devices spontaneously losing power during operation, sending them plummeting to the ground.

Some argued that a full recall was a bit excessive, but the footage below should give you a pretty good understanding of why GoPro put safety first, requested that all units were sent back and carried out a thorough investigation before relaunching the Karma.
