Samsung’s Galaxy S8 will be expensive: Here’s where you can buy it

Following today’s announcement of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, carriers and retailers have revealed how much the device will cost when it’s available for preorder on March 30. As expected, Samsung’s futuristic flagship will be pricey.

The nice thing is some purchases will offer a free Gear VR ($129 value) with Controller ($39 value) and Oculus game pack. That takes some of the sting out of the S8’s hefty entry price. You’ll be able to find both devices at a number of retailers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Best Buy, Walmart, and more.

Below is what you can expect.

T-Mobile

Customers who preorder will get a Samsung Gear VR included, along with a controller powered by Oculus and an Oculus content bundle.

Galaxy S8: $750 full retail ($729 at MetroPCS)
; monthly installments: $30 down payment + $30 / mo for 24 months
Jump! On Demand: $0 down +$33 / mo for 24 months

Galaxy S8 Plus: $850 full retail
; monthly installments: $130 down payment + $30 / mo for 24 months
Jump! On Demand: Same as monthly installments

AT&T

Customers who preorder will get a Samsung Gear VR included, along with a controller powered by Oculus and an Oculus content bundle.

On AT&T Next you can get the Galaxy S8 at $25 or the Galaxy S8+ at $28.34 for 30 months with eligible service.

Or, on AT&T Next Every YearSM you can get the Galaxy S8 at $31.25 or the Galaxy S8+ at $35.42 for 24 months with eligible service.

Business customers can purchase either device on Enterprise Installment Plans (EIP) over 36 or 24 months.

Verizon

Pricing for the Galaxy S8 is $30 per month for 24 months ($720 retail price) and pricing for the Galaxy S8+ is $35 per month for 24 months ($840 retail price).

Best Buy

If you preorder the S8 or S8 Plus from Best Buy the retailer will offer a $100 discount. Better yet, the discount can be combined with other deals and promotions available from Samsung and its carrier partners, including the free Gear VR and Controller bundle.

TheVerge also says unlocked versions of the S8 and S8 Plus will be available on May 9 and cost $724.99 and $824.99, respectively.

Walmart

The Galaxy S8 starts at $659, and the Galaxy S8 Plus starts at $759. Prices vary by carrier. A minimum down payment of $50 is required to reserve the phone.

If customers purchase the phone via an installment contract at Walmart on AT&T, Sprint or Verizon, they will receive a $150 off the S8 or the S8 Plus. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be available in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray and Artic Silver. Colors vary by store.

Customers who pre-order at Walmart will receive a free Gear VR headset with controller.
