Destiny 2 gets a teaser trailer, and it’s actually really good

What do you do when you want to make nerds laugh? Just add Nathan Fillion. The big reveal trailer for Destiny 2 isn’t for a couple more days yet, but Activision and Bungie are dropping more teases to keep us occupied in the meantime. The latest stars one of Destiny‘s best characters, Cayde-6, regaling us with a tale of one of his recent encounters. Thanks to Fillion’s voice, the bit is genuinely funny and worth a look.

Humor makes a big difference

Sure, the trailer’s gorgeous and the animation is incredible, but that’s par for the course these days. Teasers can be exhausting as we continue waiting and waiting for actual information about the games we’re most excited about.

But if the producers go the extra mile toward making it something that makes us laugh? Hey, all is forgiven. Keep up the tease. Destiny trailers have used humor before – remember DrCrispy93? But the return of Cayde-6 is a nice connection back to the first game, and this might be one of the series’ best trailers yet. Here’s to hoping that we’re going to get a bit more of this out of the sequel and a bit less “I don’t have time to explain why I don’t have time to explain.”

The Destiny 2 reveal trailer is set to hit on March 30 at 10 a.m. Pacific.
