Xbox boss says first party games are critical for Scorpio launch

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has been responding to questions from gamers on Twitter again. The guy does it all the time, and it’s made him sort of a force in the world of responsive gaming execs.

We dig it.

This time, he told fans that the first-party games coming to Scorpio, the current codename for the new Xbox One, are critically important. Here he is over two separate exchanges on the matter.

When will we definitely know more?

Microsoft will certainly have more on Scorpio at E3, but it’s always possible that the console and game maker may reveal the hardware towards the end of May in order to focus on the games in June.

The Xbox presser is slated for Sunday, June 11, at 2 p.m. PT this year. That’s earlier than normal.

We’ll have more on the console and its software as it comes.
