Night Shift is now available for Mac

Apple rolled out macOS 10.12.4 on Monday with its usual minor performance enhancements, but the highlight of the update is the arrival of Night Shift.

The feature has been available for iPhones since Apple released the iOS 9.3 update last year. It turns the hue of the display a soft warm color at night, which is strenuous on your eyes. Users can schedule when they want Night Shift to turn on and off. Right now, you can access Night Shift on iOS either in the Settings or through Control Center.

Apple infamously borrowed the idea of Night Shift from f.lux, a service that was available for iOS and Mac that did what Night Shift does. But now that it’s baked into both iOS and Mac, it makes f.lux pretty much irrelevant.

macOS 10.12.4 is available for Mac users beginning today.
