Mass Effect: Andromeda’s EA Access trial starts early, check it out now

Those who have a subscription to EA Access through the Xbox One or Origin Access through EA’s online service can now fire up their trial for Mass Effect: Andromeda. If you want to join in early and play the latest BioWare space opera epic, both services cost $5 a month and lands you this trial and more demos, classics, and free games on top.

The trial version is, of course, loaded with limitations. First, the game can only be played for 10 hours. These ten hours count even as you are perusing menus, so please be careful not to leave it running overnight.

Second, you’ll only have access to the game’s starting planet, and all of the missions available on this planet will be available from the beginning. After clearing them out, you’ll have to wait for the full game to launch to progress any further.

The multiplayer is also not available, so nobody will get a headstart on farming loot boxes.

EA Access and Origin Access have their biggest game of the year

Mass Effect: Andromeda is easily EA’s biggest game for the first half of the year and maybe the entirety of 2017. With fans around the world eager to play, you have to expect that not many will hesitate to drop $ to play early, meaning that all of these fans will get a taste of what EA Access and Origin Access have to offer.

I wonder what the retention rate will be for April.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 21.
