Although no event has been scheduled, Apple is reportedly on the verge of launching new iPads, according to MacRumors. Citing “reputable supply chain analysts,” the Cupertino company is expected to announced new devices between March 20 and March 24—with or without an event.
MacRumors uses the caveat that these new products may not be related to Apple’s 10.5-inch iPad Pro, which has been rumored for months now. The unnamed research firm simply says Apple is going to release new products; it could be something as simple as a new dongle or headphones.
Considering the 10.5-inch iPad Pro is expected to sport a new design and possibly support for a revamped Apple Pencil, it would be odd for Apple not to hold an event. Invites may still go out in the next few days if the company does indeed have something planned. However, what’s imminent is unclear.
As MacRumors notes, Apple has held several March events in the past, including the reveal of its 9.7-inch iPad Pro. It’s very possible Apple still has something planned for later this month, but invites have yet to go out.
A new 10.5-inch iPad Pro
According to previous reports, Apple’s 10.5-inch iPad Pro could feature slimmer bezels and similar capabilities to that of the other iPad Pro models. It’s unclear if Apple plans to introduce any features to the 10.5-inch iPad Pro not found in other models.
In addition to a new iPad Pro, Apple is also said to introduce a red iPhone 7 and a new storage option for the iPhone SE.
