Google officially launched a new original content podcast series dubbed “City Soundtracks”. Google said the new series is “a traveling conversation about the people, places and moments that shape our musical lives,” and noted that “each episode features an artist and a city. Host Hrishikesh Hirway invites musicians to lead listeners on a tour of the city through conversation and music.”

There are three episodes to start, including one with Spoon in Austin, Texas; another with Big Freedia in New Orleans, Louisiana; and a third with Kehlani in Oakland, California. The Austin, Texas episode discusses the band Spoon’s start in at the University of Texas, Austin, while taking a tour of the city. “They share stories about their arrival in town, venues old and new, their home studio, and their motel hideaway for writing music,” the podcast description says. There are songs throughout, too, from a variety of bands.
