The horrifyingly adorable Rain World comes to PlayStation 4 and PC this month

2017 has already been very kind to me with my Kickstarter games. We’re not even halfway through March, and I’ve received either release dates or download codes for Hive Jump, Cosmic Star Heroine, and Torment: Tides of Numenera. Today’s news adds the exciting Rain World from Adult Swim Games with a release date on March 28.

Think of Rain World as a fantastical take on the classic Prince of Persia formula. It’s a tough, physics-based platformer based on enemy evasion, and it comes with a lot of death-defying leaps, dark storytelling, and plenty of frustration around every turn. The major difference is that you play as a “Slugcat,” the bottom of the food chain, and everything in this ecosystem wants to kill and eat you.

Yeah, this is going to be a challenging game. We can already tell.

Still plenty of Kickstarter projects to go

I donated to quite a few games back in the Gold Rush years of 2013 and 2014. Rain World was one of the last ones, so excluding it and the other three mentioned above, I still have seven more to go before my entire line-up is wrapped up. Six of them I’m sure I’ll be seeing within the next year. The last one…uhhh… not so sure. Let’s get ’em all finished!

Rain World launches for the PlayStation 4 and PC on March 28.
