Prices for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus have leaked out ahead of Samsung’s official unveiling at the end of this month. As fans will likely be anticipating, both handsets will be costly in Europe and the United Kingdom, where one retailer is already taking pre-orders.
Roland Quandt of MobileGeeks.de has become a reliable source of leaked information, correctly revealing details about the Samsung Xcover 4 and the Huawei P10 before they landed. His latest claims reveal the Galaxy S8 series will be available in black, silver, and violet at launch, with users paying €799 (approx. $843) and €899 (approx. $948) respectively in Europe.
Meanwhile, British retailer MobileFun, which also has a very reliable track record, has already started taking pre-orders for both devices (and a wide range of accessories) in the U.K., where customers will be paying £799 (approx. $972) for the Galaxy S8, and £899 (approx. $1,094) for the Galaxy S8 Plus.
Sadly, there’s no information regarding U.S. pricing yet, but it is surely just a matter of time before that leaks out, too.
Both handsets in the Galaxy S8 lineup are expected to feature larger, edge-to-edge “Infinity Displays” squeezed into form factors similar in size to those of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Recent leaks have also promised iris scanners, Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor, improved cameras, USB-C connectivity, and possible S Pen compatibility.
Samsung will announce the Galaxy S8 at an event in New York City on March 29 before it goes on sale in April.
