Galaxy S8 Plus appears in new pictures ahead of reveal

Someone opened up the Galaxy S8 floodgates. What started as a slow leak of news has turned into a constant barrage of pictures and videos, including a Galaxy S8 hands-on video that hit the internet yesterday. Now we’re being treated to two new images of the alleged Galaxy S8 Plus.

The photos don’t really show much new, though they do give us a closer look at the back of the smartphone where we see the fingerprint reader, the camera and the phone’s camera flash. This is the first time Samsung has used a fingerprint reader on the back of a flagship smartphone; it looks within easy reach, but I wonder how many people are going to smudge the camera lens while looking for the fingerprint pad. Also note the software home option on the front that will serve as an on-screen option instead of a physical button, the first time Samsung has done this on a flagship as well.

Coming soon

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S8 during a press conference on March 29 where we also expect to see the larger Galaxy S8 Plus. We’ll learn all about how the phone works, and finally get some answers to our questions, in just a few weeks.
