Aw, shucks. While some rumors out of Apple’s supply chain had suggested Apple might launch three new iPads, including a 9.7-inch iPad, a 10.5-inch iPad Pro and a 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 as soon as this March, a new report says that won’t happen.
Instead, suppliers are going to report lower-than-expected earnings due to a slight delay that’s forcing Apple to launch two of those iPads, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 and the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro, into the May or June timeframe.
This follows hot on the heels of a report that suggested Apple will announce a new red iPhone 7 and the 10.5-inch iPad Pro – a screen size we haven’t yet seen on an iPad – as soon as next month. Here’s the thing: Apple might still announce all three iPads, if it’s indeed building them as rumors suggest, but may just launch some sooner than others.
Might not be that bad…
It wouldn’t be too outlandish, for example, for Apple to announce the 10.5-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 and simply say “coming soon” or “coming in the next couple of months.” Consumers have proved they’re willing to wait for Apple products, so waiting two months seems pretty fine. We’ll see how this shapes up come next month.
