Is this Overwatch’s next hero? Doesn’t look like Doomfist

Blizzard’s teasing something, that much is clear. A completely new character has been introduced to the Overwatch universe, and the timing’s right for the addition of a new hero.

Her name is Efi Oladele, and she’s featured in an “interview” after winning the fictitious Adawe Foundation Genius Grant. The interview covers her interest in robots and artificial intelligence.

Well, I’ve always been interested. After my mom and dad got me my first robotics kit, I became obsessed with putting together little drones. When I started to get good at it, I tried to build robots to do my chores and help around the house. My parents think it’s cheating… It’s no fair! (laughs)

I want to create things that make our lives better. And someday, my dream is to build something that can keep us safe, like the new OR15s! I think that would be great.

What’s an OR15? That’s what I’m curious about. And the idea that it’ll “keep us safe” feels like hinting on Blizzard’s part.

This thing has to be in the tank class

Blizzard’s own Jeff Kaplan said that they’d soon address the lack of a new tank with their hero updates. I, for one, thought it would be Doomfist, but that’s slowly but surely not the case. I think Doomfist is still coming, but I think this hero might be closer to launch ready.

So, I’m putting money on Efi building some sort of tank-class robot. Maybe? Who the heck knows. I was way off on my Sombra guess.
