We’re two weeks away from Zelda: Breath of the Wild, come stare at these screenshots

Zelda. This franchise is a mainstay for plenty of gaming fans.

For me, it’s the first I can remember playing with my dad. That goes back to the original The Legend of Zelda on NES. My dad picked up the game and a player’s guide, and we sat in front of our old TV (the kind with dials) and played it daily until we beat it. We did that again for The Adventures of Link, a game that I still think is pretty fun.

I’ve played every single title in the series since; though, I haven’t loved all of them. It’s been a constant for me, and it’s almost always the reason why I dive into a Nintendo platform.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be here in less than two weeks. It’s launching on March 3, 2017, for both the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch. The game is a lot different than what we’re used to. No more finding hearts in grass. Link can cook. You can mount and tame horses in the wild (supposedly Epona’s back, though, so that’s cool). The game will even feature paid DLC.

People have been clamoring for change in the Zelda series for years. Breath of the Wild will present lots of change, and I find myself wondering if the fanbase will be happy about what they wished for.

We’ll see. Will you be playing Breath of the Wild in two weeks?
