For Honor racked up over 3 million players during this weekend’s beta test

I’m still a bit baffled by the idea of Ubisoft’s For Honor. Where the company came up with a PvP third-person medieval fighting game is beyond me, but the game has done fairly well for itself every time the gaming community gets to play it. Hands-on impressions are strong, and the beta test proved to be a big success.

I even read something about a GOAT enjoying it, whatever that means.

3 million players joined in the fun to give the servers a test over the past weekend, and the positive reception is bound to turn on a few players for when it launches tomorrow. Oh yeah, and naturally there’s a launch trailer.

Ubisoft’s first surprise hit of the year

Ubisoft is pretty good about securing an early hit that lasts deep into the year. The Division attempted to be that game last year, and now For Honor seems to be filling in that space for 2017.

Again, I doubt many will remember it when Game of the Year season rolls around, just like The Division, but For Honor will serve its purpose and hold us over until the bigger games start to flow.

For Honor launches tomorrow, Feb. 14, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
