Last year, Logitech launched the ZeroTouch, an system designed to give drivers hands-free control of their smartphone. Now that same system is getting Alexa integration through its companion app.
With Alexa integration, users will be able to tap into the assistant’s thousands of skills right from the road, including accessing to-do lists and product ordering, plus much more. Most everything you can do with an Echo at home you can now do in your car.
“The marriage of Logitech ZeroTouch and Alexa make it possible for drivers to not only use their voice to control more than just their smartphone, but all smart devices kept at home, before they even get there,” said Patric Frank, head of new ventures at Logitech.
To initiate the ZeroTouch system, simply wave your hand over your mounted device. From there, you can text friends and family, get directions, and control your music. And with the added benefit of Alexa, you can turn on your living room lights before you even step foot in your house.
There are two ZeroTouch mounts
Unfortunately, the ZeroTouch system is only compatible with Android devices (Android 5.0 and up)—sorry iOS users. If you meet that requirement, there are two mounts to choose from: ZeroTouch Air Vent or ZeroTouch Dashboard, which retail for $59.99 and $79.99 respectively.
The Alexa feature is now available to users in the U.S. and UK as a free update. An Amazon account is required to access the Alexa feature.
