Because we’re too impatient to wait until they’re official, check out what appears to be retail packing for the upcoming LG Watch Style. The box seemingly confirms the watch’s analog design, complete with what is rumored to be a digital crown.
While the box isn’t particularly exciting, the wording on the front is notable. Under the product’s name, LG has included “Designed with our friends at Google.” Previous rumors suggested the search giant was involved in some capacity and the pictures are confirmation of that.
The wording is different from what Google uses for its Pixel phones, which says “by Google.” It’s unclear just how involved Google was in the development of the LG Watch Style (and LG Watch Sport), but the wearables will reportedly be the first to launch with Android Wear 2.0.
They may launch on February 9
While LG has an event scheduled for February 26, its new smartwatches may actually launch this Thursday. At least, that’s according to a recent report. Given there are retail boxes already out in the wild, the timing seems to match up. And if that’s the case, you’ll be able to pick one up later this week, reportedly for $249 (Watch Style) and $349 (Watch Sport)
The LG Watch Style will reportedly feature a 1.2-inch display, IP67 water and dust resistance, and a 240mAh battery. The Sport, meanwhile, is expected to be the more powerful of the two, with a heart rate sensor, IP68 water and dust resistance, GPS, NFC, and cellular connectivity.
