Square Enix of Japan is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Final Fantasy in all sorts of ways this year. Recently, they announced the sale of a special wine set, complete with a single bottle and two glasses. It’s selling for 108,000 yen, or roughly $950.
The glasses are the highlight of the set, as they make up most of the expense. The pair comes from Swarovski, famous crystal drink and dining ware maker. The crystal features blue gradation as a nod to Final Fantasy. These are being made by hand, so each has a unique gradation of blue.
Onto the wine. The premiere set includes a bottle of Chateau Meyney 1987, which can typically be found for around $70-80.
There are cheaper offerings in the wine category. Square Enix is also selling a red and white wine with Final Fantasy branding. Those cost just shy of 5,000 yen, or roughly $45.
This is a classy way to celebrate a video game anniversary, but I can’t say I’m surprised to see it from Square Enix for Final Fantasy.
