After months of silence, Square Enix finally gave some new goodies on Final Fantasy VII Remake during its Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary event in Japan.
While not all that deep, we do get a look at the new key image, which features Cloud, his infamously large sword, and the one-winged angel himself, Sephiroth. Both of them feel a little too cool to look at the camera, I guess.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is in development for the PlayStation 4.
So this is still happening, huh?
I still believe it’s going to be at least half a decade until we play this game, or are at least able to in its entirety. Final Fantasy VII Remake seems like the most ambitious video game that Square Enix has ever attempted, and I don’t expect it to go entirely smoothly.
Remember, Final Fantasy VII itself was developed over the course of a single year. We’re already almost two years removed from the reveal and have nothing new to go off of besides this new image.
