Amazon announced this week that it’s adding a few new tricks to Amazon Alexa just in time for Groundhog Day on Thursday, Feb. 2. Ahead of then, and presumably continuing after, you can ask Alexa certain questions for any number of witty responses.

Here’s a sample provided to us via email by Amazon of some of the new questions you can ask, in addition to a sample answer:

  • “Alexa, Happy Groundhog Day!”
    • Alexa: Thank you! It feels a lot like last Groundhog Day. Maybe I’m having deja vu. (hint, try a few more times for different responses)
  • “Alexa, Give me a Groundhog Day movie quote.”
  • “Alexa, Do you ever have deja vu?”
  • “Alexa, Who is Punxsutawney Phil?”
  • “Alexa, Will the groundhog see his shadow?”

On Groundhog day, you’ll be able to say “Good morning” to receive this unique response: “Good morning! Rise and shine! And don’t forget your booties, because it’s cold out there today.” That’s a quote from the movie Groundhog Day.

Finally, you’ll be able to ask Alexa if the groundhog saw his shadow, determining whether or not we’ll have an early spring or a longer winter.
