10 free hours of Mass Effect: Andromeda for EA Access subscribers

EA Access and Origin Access are opening the doors to Mass Effect: Andromeda a little early for their subscribers with an extended 10-hour demo. The game is set to release on March 21, and the demo will be available five days early on March 16.

As the services are only available through the Xbox One and PC, PlayStation 4 owners will not have access to the demo.

Joining the Mass Effect demo will be a host of other games added to the EA Access Vault, including Dead Space: Ignition, Madden NFL 17, Skate 3 and Zuma’s Revenge.

How much of a dent can you put in Mass Effect in 10 hours?

The Mass Effect games are RPGs, but they aren’t quite as long as the genre’s standard fare. 10 hours is roughly one-third of the play-length of the previous games when you do the main storyline and major sidequests. It’s about a half the game if you charge through the story.

I doubt anyone will be able to beat the game in the 10 hours provided, but given that gamers are prone to destroying expectations, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if someone did.

Mass Effect: Andromeda launches on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 21. The demo will only be available on the Xbox One and PC.
