Back at CES 2017, Faraday Future said its new FF91 car, which it hopes will one day compete with Tesla, is the fastest-accelerating electric car on the planet, capable of moving from 0-60mph in just 2.4 seconds.
Sorry, Faraday, Tesla already has you beat with a production vehicle.
In the video above, you’ll watch a Tesla Model S P100D in the new Ludicrous Plus mode hustle from dead-stopped to 60mph in just 2.389 seconds. Make no mistake – it gets totally dusted by the Ford Mustang it’s drag racing against, and it definitely looks a little silly on a track where one typically expects to find loud engines and plenty of gasoline. It’s still pretty amazing how far we’ve come with electric vehicles, though, isn’t it?
Ludicrous Plus Mode is faster than advertised
Ludicrous Plus mode was introduced earlier this month as a software update. It technically only advertises the ability to move from 0-60mph in just 2.4 seconds, but here you can see it moves just a hair faster. That means a lot when it comes to bragging rights. Ball’s in your court, Faraday. Check out the video below.
