Last week, some leaked cases from Ghostek gave us what might have been an early sneak peek at the Galaxy S8. Now, the LG G6 is getting the same treatment. Either Ghostek is great at getting accurate renders of phones for its new cases, or it’s just publishing guess-work.
In any case, what we see above could be our best look at the LG G6 yet. The phone is expected to make its grand debut during Mobile World Congress at the end of next month, when LG typically announces its new “G-series” Android smartphones. Last year’s LG G5 was a great phone but was overshadowed by the superior Samsung Galaxy S7/Galaxy S7 Edge and marred by its failed mod system. LG looks like it’s coming back with a bang this year.
LG G6 specs
A recent teaser suggested the phone will finally be water-resistant, a feather in its cap since the LG G5 stood out as one of the new modern smartphones without that feature. Rumors have also suggested we’re looking at a large Quad HD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, a Snapdragon 835 processor and more. The renders above suggest a pretty compelling industrial design, too, with a rear-facing fingerprint reader and what appears to be a metallic body. The latter might suggest wireless charging is out, which is a bit of a bummer, but we’ll hold judgement until LG makes the G6 official.
