I wouldn’t blame you if you got this wrong, it’s just not fair. When the Nintendo switch premiered, there were lots of great games shown off, though maybe not as many as some Nintendo fans were hoping for. Without looking back at YouTube, I would imagine you can’t guess what the fourth most viewed videos from the reveal actually is. Sure, there’s
Sure, there’s Zelda and Mario fighting for that number one spot. I would assume that number three will probably go to Mario Kart. What about number four? Splatoon 2? ARMS? 1-2 Switch?
Those are all good guesses. They make sense. But the fourth most viewed video from that reveal event at the time of writing this post for you? Yeah, I wouldn’t have guessed either.
The most viewed is the Super Mario Odyssey trailer. Then it’s, of course, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, followed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
The fourth most popular video from the Nintendo switch reveal on YouTube is actually the one about the Nintendo switch is parental controls. Its title? “Nintendo Switch Parental Controls.”
Seriously, it’s the one that tells parents how they’ll be able to control what their kids are seeing and playing on the Nintendo switch. It’s the one that features the fancy new application that parents of gamers, who might be gamers themselves, will actually use.
Here’s the video, by the way. If you knew what it was before reading this story, well, kudos.
The Nintendo Switch Parent Controls video is hugely popular. Why?
The way I see it, it’s not because future Switch owners are really excited about parental control, as solid as it seems. It’s because of how good the video is.
The whole thing is set up with Bowser and Bowser Jr. sharing an experience on the Nintendo switch, and it’s funny. Bowser, of course, has his own great moment with Princess Peach as his phone background, while Bowser Jr. struggles with the potential of playing a game that’s way out of his league or perhaps interacting with scary strangers online. It’s all very… cute.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it eventually grabs the third or even second most-viewed slot after the reveal.
