The Nintendo Switch will, of course, feature parental controls. In addition to the now standard parental controls that all consoles feature, the Nintendo Switch will give parents an app that adds more granular control to their kids’ play and play time.
You can see what games they’re playing most, limit how much they play per day (and vary that by days) as well as give them warnings about the approaching end of sessions. It seems brilliant.
As a parent, I welcome these features
My son’s just getting to the age where we’re taking off some of his screen time restrictions. We don’t let him play for hours on end, but he’s graduated from 20 or 30 minutes a day. Having the ability to limit his play while I’m playing with my 1-year-old daughter sounds perfect.
This app, as a parent, is welcome indeed.
