Hyped for tomorrow’s Nintendo Switch event? Among the big details we’re expecting Nintendo to reveal, when we can actually buy the console will hopefully be one of them. According to the Twitter account for the Nintendo World location in New York, fans excited to get their hands on the Switch will be able to preorder it this Friday—but there’s a catch.
The Tweet says folks will be able to preorder the console beginning at 9 a.m. EST. That’s great news for people who are located in New York City. But what about the rest of us across the world?
The Japanese gaming company doesn’t say whether or not preorders will be available on a wider scale—or when. Will online preorders be acceptable? How many preorders will Nintendo accept? These answers will likely be answered in tomorrow’s Switch presentation.
Following Nintendo’s announcement of the Switch last year, anticipation for the console has reached a fever pitch. I know I’m not the only one looking forward to what Nintendo plans on bringing to the table. The gaming company gave fans a sneak peak in an extended video but bigger details—price, launch lineup, BATTERY LIFE—are still unclear.
Let’s hope the launch isn’t like the NES Classic
Given Nintendo’s recent track record, expect supply to be hard to come buy. When preorders went live for the NES Classic, Nintendo couldn’t keep up with the demand, leaving a lot of fans high and dry. Let’s hope we don’t see a repeat of that.
The Nintendo Switch presentation is tomorrow at 8 p.m. PST.
