HTC phone equipped with secondary display leaks

Ahead of HTC’s event on Thursday, a leak may have ruined the company’s big surprise. Images of an HTC-branded device—reportedly codenamed “Ocean Blue—have leaked, showing off a handset that sports an unexpected surprise.

According to the images, HTC’s device will come equipped with a secondary display at the top right, similar to what’s found in devices like the LG V10 and LG V20. LG’s V20 was one of last year’s coolest phones—one that went criminally underrated.

It doesn’t appear HTC is getting particularly creative with its implementation of the secondary display. Information such as weather and app shortcuts appear in the secondary display, exactly like what’s offered by LG’s devices. It’s unclear what other ideas HTC may have up its sleeve.

The rest of the device appears run of the mill

Aside from the secondary display, the device looks fairly run of the mill. The body looks to be made of a shiny plastic, something we’re used to seeing in mid-range HTC devices.

HTC has an event scheduled for Thursday, so we’ll learn more soon. For now, peep the photos above to see what the device is going to look like.
