Super Mario recreated in stop motion with Rubik’s Cubes

Talk about being a slave to your craft!

YouTube channel jugglersynchro posted a video called “ルービックキューブでマリオ Mario by Rubik’s Cubes.” That first bit in Japanese basically says Mario with Rubik’s Cubes. You’re not missing anything. Promise.

The video is absurd as each frame was created in stop-motion with dozens of Rubik’s Cubes solved to precise patterns. It’s, well, pretty nuts to consider the time that went into making this thing. The video’s description doesn’t offer much beyond restating that they made Mario out of Rubik’s Cubes. I want to know how long it took.

And, I guess, why they did it. Or why wouldn’t they? You know, who am I to say what these folks did with their free time?
