Diablo officially demade in Diablo III, coming with next patch

Blizzard announced a while back that the 20th anniversary for Diablo would be celebrated in a few ways. Other games would get Diablo-themed goodies, for one. The big one, though? Diablo was to be demade in Diablo III.

That’s officially been done, and it’ll be live for the public when Patch 2.4.3 releases. We don’t have a release date for that patch yet, but it’s marked as “coming soon.”

Just before the two-minute mark in the video below, we see Diablo officially demade in Diablo III, and it’s glorious.

This all happens in “The Darkening of Tristram.”

What does the demake of Diablo offer?

Blizzard’s made a pixellated filter to make the game look old, the camera angle’s changed, characters can only move in concise rotation points, the sound quality has been dropped, characters walk, there’s an old UI and the animations have been changed.

It’s all very silly and absolutely going to be visited by fans like me. The update is, of course, going to be free.
