The Moto Z is still top of the mind. It’s one of the best phones of 2016, easily, thanks to its really fun modular system. Lenovo, which owns Motorola Mobility, isn’t slowing down. New renders of the alleged 2017 Moto X have surfaced, showing off a familiar design.
The 2017 Moto X, if these renders are indeed legitimate, looks a lot like the Moto Z. You can take a full 360-degree tour of the rumored device in the video above. It was provided by OnLeaks to Android Authority and shows us that the 2017 Moto X might actually pack a headphone jack — surprising, given the Moto Z and most flagships are bailing on that — and a front-facing fingerprint reader that doubles as a home button.
2017 Moto X Surprises
Here’s another surprise – the phone doesn’t appear to support Moto Mods. That would be shocking to me and could suggest this render shows the phone with some sort of style back that’s hiding the connector. Those are also available for the Moto X and make it look more like a traditional phone when mods aren’t attached.
Nice looking device, but I wonder if this is going to exist somewhere between the Moto G and the Moto Z instead of at the top of the food chain.
