Nintendo has confirmed the air time and date of its Nintendo Switch reveal presentation from Tokyo. The first time we will be able to lay eyes on the console first-hand will be at 11p.m. ET/8p.m. PT on Jan. 12, 2017.
In Japan, the schedule is set for 1p.m. on Jan. 13, meaning that for once, I’m not the one who has to stay awake until awkward hours at night to cover one of these events.

What can we expect from the live stream event?
While Japan’s pricing point for the Nintendo Switch will definitely be different from North America’s, the release date most likely won’t. Nintendo is also likely to reveal a handful of games, including a new Mario title, and several other features. I’m most looking forward to how Nintendo handles Virtual Console this time around, because with the proper setup, it could become the ultimate retro gaming machine: both portable and powerful.
After the presentation, the console will be available to play at a yet unconfirmed location in New York City.
One month to go, and we’ll know everything. I can’t wait!
