Sit your butt in Netflix’s comfy Daydream VR couch

Last week, Google’s Daydream VR received several new applications, including a bunch of games and a virtual reality version of HBO Now. On Monday, Netflix tossed its hat in the ring with a new VR version of its software.

Netflix isn’t new to VR. It actually already offers an application for Samsung’s Gear VR headset that’s very good. The Google Daydream version is similar, allowing a viewer to watch any Netflix content on a virtual big-screen display inside of a virtual movie room. In this experience, you’ll be watching a big-screen TV set inside of what appears to be a large stone fireplace. Sit yourself down on the comfy big red couch and tune in to the latest Netflix hits.

Daydream VR is taking off

We reviewed the Daydream View about a month ago and, honestly, it’s absolutely worth the $79 entry price for the headset. There weren’t very many applications at launch, but that’s quickly changing with new ones added every week. I suspect we’ll start to see fresh options launch daily soon, too. Netflix is just the latest offering to add a bit more value to Daydream VR. Check it out in the Google Play Store now.
