Square Enix’s insane “Mystery Disc” streaming event from last week seems to have reached fans a lot more directly than the company expected. It started as a simple celebration of Final Fantasy XV’s launch, and now it’s going to become a full-fledged DLC pack.
More specifically, the demo’s final boss, a recreation of Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda, is being prepped for release to the fans. Director Hajime Tabata confirmed Square Enix’s intentions to release it during a Famitsu’s live stream interview.
What about giant Plumpto?
I welcome this news with open arms, especially because it’s so much fun to see a Japanese company cast the boss in such a satirical fashion. However, the “Mystery Disc” event also featured another boss fight against Noctis’ buddy Prompto, except he was a giant version of his younger, chubbier self. I want that boss fight and the raining ice cream in Final Fantasy XV as well.
Tabata did state that the “Holiday Pack” would be on the way before the end of the year, and it will include new New Game + options and a Level Cap Creation Feature.
Final Fantasy XV is available now for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Plus, it’s really awesome. You’ll get our review once I feel comfortable enough to review it.
