Red Dead Redemption playable on PC through PlayStation Now next week

Are you into compromises? I sure hope so. If you’ve ever wanted a chance to play Red Dead Redemption on the PC platform, this might be your best shot… pardner.

Rockstar has announced that the PlayStation 3 version of Red Dead Redemption and its Undead Nightmare expansion (which is wonderful) are bound for the PlayStation Now service. They’ll be available beginning on December 6, 2016.

PlayStation Now works on the PlayStation 4, of course, as well as the PC. That’s the biggy here. If you get a subscription to PlayStation Now and a DualShock 4, you’ll be able to fire up and play Red Dead Redemption on your PC.

It’s a compromise, for sure. You won’t have access to beautiful settings or all the modding potential that comes from the PC. You’ll be playing a PS3 game through a (solid) streaming service. I get it.

Red Dead Redemption is worth it

I’ll offer that the compromise is worth your time and money. PlayStation Now has a free 7-day trial, so you can get your rustlin’ in that way. If you like it, you only need to pay $19.99 per month (or $44.99 per 3-months).

If you only game on the PC, this is great. The DualShock 4 will set you back, but it works with a lot of PC games. In fact, it’s a solid gamepad for titles that require or recommend one.

Mount up?
