The Nintendo Switch may offer an interesting RPG at launch featuring one unlikely cast. Rumor has it that Ubisoft is making a Mario and Rabbids crossover RPG.
This comes from Laura Dale of Let’s Play Video Games. This reporter has correctly posted a lot of Nintendo Switch rumors from various sources. Her anonymous tipsters say that Ubisoft’s Mario and Rabbids crossover is a turn-based RPG. Dale’s sources add that the game features the Mushroom Kingdom invaded by Ubisoft’s Rabbids. The title will be stacked with Mario cameos. It’s also said to feature a special quick save option for when portable play incurs battery loss.
Ubisoft has launched with Nintendo before
While a lot of third party publishers like EA and Activision abandoned Nintendo with the Wii U, Ubisoft hung around. The company launched ZombiU and, eventually, Rayman Legends for the Wii U. They stuck with the console for as long as they could, too.
It’s no surprise that Nintendo would be willing to work with Ubisoft for the Switch’s launch, too. It’s unusual that Nintendo would trust Ubisoft with the Mario franchise, but that may turn out great.
We’ll have more on the Nintendo Switch as it comes.
