Volvo recently announced a new “Volvo Concierge” service for Volvo owners that it will begin to trial in San Francisco this month. The whole idea is to make owning a Volvo a much more pleasurable experience. No more taking it to the dealer for service and sitting around eating stale potato chips in the lobby. No more running out of gas. No more car washes. Volvo wants to do all of it for you.
Volvo Concierge is an app that lets you schedule all of those aforementioned tasks, like servicing, refueling and even car washes. You’ll give a secure mobile key to a mobile concierge driver who will pick up your car on demand and take it for whatever is needed. You’ll pay for the services, of course, but you won’t have to be the one doing them. The app even lets you schedule for specific times, like if you know you need the car serviced in a couple of weeks. It’s like having your own personal on-demand car assistant.
Volvo Concierge limited to San Francisco for now
Volvo didn’t announce when it plans to roll this outside of the San Francisco area, where the tech-elite are no doubt used to these kinds of luxuries. It’s also only going to be limited to 300 drivers to start, including only those who purchased new XC90 and S90 cars. It certainly seems like another good reason to look at buying a Volvo, at least if you hate sitting around for car servicing as much as I do. Check out how the service works in the video below.
