PlayStation has announced and released Sharefactory version 2.0 for the PlayStation 4. This editing and sharing tool just got a feature that should make a lot of gamers pretty happy.

GIF support. That’s awesome no matter how you pronounce it (hard “g” for the win).

PlayStation Blog had the update.

We’re excited about the new animated GIF feature, which can be easily shared to Twitter right from your console via Sharefactory. Using content from your Capture Gallery or your existing Sharefactory projects, you can create looping animated GIFs up to 10 seconds long. Sharefactory is currently the only way to create and share animated GIFs on PS4.

I can’t wait to see a storm of PlayStation-related GIFs take over the social feeds I follow.

Sharefactory 2.0 also brings PS4 Pro support

This updated isn’t limted to the simple creation and sharing of GIFs, though. Sharefactory will support 1080p videos and 4K screenshot editing and sharing.

The PlayStation Blog got specific with some more minor features, too.

  • Projects now export up to 20% faster
  • Pan & Zoom on your gameplay videos
  • New Sharefactory troll stickers
  • New font for “Internet meme”
  • Split clip feature can now be utilized on Track 2
  • Refreshed UI

Bring on the GIFs!
