Amazon U.K. has started offering one-hour deliveries for more than 7,000 products in London as part of its Prime Now service. The service is charged at £6.99 (approx. $8.70) per delivery, and goods come from local London shops.
Prime customers living in selected London postcodes can purchase over 7,000 “luxury health, wellbeing and beauty products from John Bell & Croyden – pharmacists to Her Majesty The Queen – and fine wines and spirits from Spirited Wines,” announced Amazon.
This is on top of the 15,000 products already offered by Amazon as part of Prime Now. The one-hour delivery option, which is available between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily, comes at a price — even for Prime subscribers — but two-hour delivery is free.
You’ll need to download the Prime Now app for Android or iOS to see which products are available to you, and if the service is available in your postcode. You’ll need to spend at least £20 (approx. $25) not including delivery to be eligible.
“By working with local shops, we are increasing selection for Prime customers, from luxury skincare brands at John Bell & Croyden to speciality wines from Spirited Wines, with delivery right to their door in 60 minutes or less,” said Mariangela Marseglia, Director for Prime Now.
“Local store delivery through Prime Now will expand to more shops and more customers in the future.”
