Katamari Damacy creator’s first augmented reality game arrives for Tango-enabled phones

Welcome to WOORLD, the free augmented reality game from none other than Katamary Damacy creator, Keita Takahashi.

WOORLD isn’t that deep of an experience, and I struggle to call it a game at all. It’s more of a sandbox experience that lets you decorate your house with a wide assortment of colorful props. The twist is that all of these props are designed with Takahashi’s usual bubbly and dreamy style, making your house look like it’s ready to be run over by a giant sphere of assorted objects.

No, stay away! Nooooo!!!

Good luck finding a phone that supports WOORLD

I want to fill my room with water and decorate it with UFOs and Mushrooms too, but the catch is that not many phones support WOORLD just yet. Only phones that support Tango can access it, and currently, that is limited to Lenovo’s Phab 2 Pro. Nothing else can play WOORLD just yet, but I’m hoping for that an update will quickly make it universally available.

The Google Play store link is up if you at least want to take a look at it.

We’re also waiting for news on Wattam, the PlayStation 4 game that Takahashi is working on. We haven’t seen much of it since the debut trailer from E3 2015, so hopefully WOORLD is just a side-project while he works on the big console experience.
