MacBook Pro 13-inch (2016) Touch Bar vs. MacBook Pro 13-inch (2015) spec shoot out!

The biggest announcement Apple made today at its October event was the introduction of the Touch Bar on its new MacBook Pros. The new addition, which also comes with a Touch ID sensor, will come with the 13-inch and 15-inch version of laptops.

Apple also introduced a non-Touch Bar Pro computer, but that one is mainly competing with MacBook Air users. The 13-inch version looks to replace last year’s model, which boasted a Retina display and already slim design with all the ports you could want. Those were the days of old because now you’re stuck with four USB-C ports and headphone jack. Granted, those USB-C ports handle everything, including charging and simultaneously display your MacBook onto an external display in the same port, but it’s a shame to lose MagSafe.

The new MacBook Pro also sheds half a pound, down to just 3 pounds, and is even thinner than the MacBook Air. It also comes standard with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, no more 4GB/128GB configurations.

The meat of this new MacBook is the Touch Bar, which adds a lot of functionality as new apps start to support it. It might take a second to get used to it, but once you learn to navigate around it, you’ll wonder how you ever got on without it. At least that’s what Apple is hoping for.

Check out our spec by spec breakdown of the 13-inch MacBook Pros down below.
