According to USA Today, Apple is planning to introduce a new Apple TV app aimed at helping users discover new TV shows.
USA Today explains:
Described to network executives as “the Watch List,” the app will recommend shows based on the content viewers access through their Apple TVs. For example, a subscriber to FX Networks might be encouraged to check out the new dramatic series Atlanta.
When the new Apple TV was introduced, the company also unveiled an overhauled interface, emphasizing apps over traditional channels. This new app will be a modernized TV guide aimed at making search and discovery easier than ever.
Combined with Apple’s single sign-on feature—something that still hasn’t been made available to consumers—and accessing new content will be a painless experience.
From the sounds of it, this new app will be best for those who are subscribed to multiple networks (or pay for them through a cable package).
“The Watch List” won’t be the app’s actual name, but we’ll learn the official moniker tomorrow. We’ll also get more details on Apple’s rumored MacBook Pro, which the company accidentally leaked with its new macOS update.
