A fan made a Pokémon Sun and Moon ad that is better than the real thing

We live in a world where fans make ads for video games. That’s crazy. The crazier bit? These ads are sometimes better than the real thing.

That’s the case for the work of Director John Wikstrom. This ad for Sun and Moon is something special.

I write this without an ounce of hyperbole: the fan-made ad above for Pokémon Sun and Moon gave me chills. Specifically, when the kid grows into an adult, stops at a store window, looks at the new games and the familiar tune plays? Game over, man. Game over.

The dude in the trailer is me. He’s probably a lot of us. Nostalgia drives my love for games like Pokémon, and I don’t think that will ever go away.

Pokémon Sun and Moon hits the Nintendo 3DS on November 18, 2016.
