With the reveal of the Nintendo Switch behind us, gamers want more news. That will come in the form of rumors and speculation; but, don’t expect anything official from Nintendo.
In fact, don’t expect any official announcements regarding the Nintendo Switch until 2017.
The Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki stated that Nintendo will not reveal any games or spec details for the Nintendo Switch until 2017:
Nintendo: no more official announcement would come this year on 1) game titles 2) spec details, including region-lock status.

Waiting until 2017 for more Nintendo Switch news gives us a shorter runway.
You know what? I kind of dig it. If we don’t hear anything about the Nintendo Switch until January, we only have to wait three months. That short runway between news and sale is great.
The months between now and more news? Sure, those will be annoying. If the Nintendo Switch manages to wow us with software, specs and price, we won’t wait long at all until we can buy it.
We reached out to Nintendo for confirmation on this report. We will update this post if they respond.
